What the job is about
As General Manager you are responsible for the success of the company. You manage the 50 local employees and together with the management team you achieve the operational and strategic goals. You have a job with a lot of freedom and varied work. In addition to managing the team, you maintain contacts with important stakeholders such as major customers, the government, the shareholders and with the farmers’ network.
You will be involved in the following core tasks
- Ensure the day-to-day management of the management team
- Creating a positive and productive work environment
- Monitor, evaluate and improve internal processes and procedures
- Achieve sales targets
- Timely reporting to the shareholders abroad
- Preparation of forecasts and budgets in collaboration with the financial manager, for adoption by the shareholders
About the Company
We are a medium sized meat processor in Debre Zeit/Bishoftu, Ethiopia. The investors started the company recently, with the aim of producing local food for local people. We work together with farmers who raise the animals and deliver them to us for processing. They do this under the guidance of one from our experts. Job Requirements
Who you are We are looking for someone who is highly driven and motivated to lead our company for a number of years. You have a stable personality and have the courage to make decisions. At the same time, you can listen carefully to your employees and you can break through cultural barriers.
- Higher education level
- You are a proven people manager
- You are broadly oriented
- Work experience with a foreign company is a plus
- Experience in the poultry sector is a plus
- You have a good command of the English language in speaking and writing
