Gatoch Panom Wins Premier League Player of the Season

St George FC midfielder Gatoch Panom has been named the 2021/22 Ethiopian Premier League Player of the Season.

The midfielder has been recognized with the prize for playing a key role in his club’s bid to win the Premier League title.

St. George FC won the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League title for the 2021/22 season after finishing the season on 65 points, four points ahead of second-placed Fasil Kenema FC.

Gatoch received the award and 210,000 birr money prize from Esayas Jira, president of Ethiopia’s Football Federation (EFF), during an award ceremony held at Sheraton Addis on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Jimma Aba Jifar Goalkeeper Alazar Markos received the Young Player of the Year gong.

Sidama Coffee striker Yigezu Bogale also received the top scorer award. He finished the season with 16 goals.

St George’s Ugandan Charles Lukeago was also recognized as the best goalkeeper of the season while Zerihun Shengeta was named the best coach.
