Job purpose:
Support the Performance of all the financial management functions of the project office in the organization.
MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing all the financial transactions of the Project
- Prepare all financial reports based on existing finance management system.
- Plan, implement, and control of program-related and administrative budgets.
- Support admin and logistic team in proper asset management.
- Proper execution of requisitions, expenditure, and accountability of organizational resources.
- Preparations of timely and accurate donor and management reports, and budget proposals that includes being responsive to donor conditions.
- Maintaining daily account of the daily transactions.
- Balancing the daily account at the end of each day;
- Making daily, weekly and monthly transaction reports to the Project Director and Country finance Officer;
- Be responsible for sending and receiving account information to and from the Country Office;
- Prepare project staff payroll sheet, Payroll reconciliation and time sheet.
- Be the main contact person with the bank, government tax office and government pension office.
- Be responsible for payroll, pension fund, petty cash and payment vouchers administration of the JRS-RCC Project.
- Prepare
sasset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information; - Maintain up-to-date fixed asset record and send to the Country finance Office on monthly basis.
- Document
sfinancial transactions by entering account information; - Recommend
sfinancial actions by analyzing accounting options; - Substantiate
sfinancial transactions by auditing documents; - Reconcile
sfinancial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. - Secure
sfinancial information by completing data base backups. - Maintain
sfinancial security by following internal controls; - Prepare
spayments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements; - Comply with JRS and donors, federal and regional financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions in collaboration with the project team ;
- Prepare
sfinancial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends;\ - Maintain
sconfidentiality of financial information and keep all financial, finance related in good and chronological order; - Ensuring that recommendations made by the Country Office Finance Officer are implemented.
- Managing communication with CO Finance regarding financial Management.
- Positively contribute to organizational culture and participate fully in staff processes.
- Contribute
sto team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed/required by your immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- B.A degree with 6+ years of relevant and progressive experience working in accounting and finance area. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
- Knowledgeable in and experience in managing financial software
- Clear understanding of preparing donor’s report (UNHCR, BPRM)
- Ability to prepare budget utilization periodical report
- Clear knowledge and understanding of the national tax system (All applicable laws)
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills
- Honest, hard-working, and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within different cultural environments
- Strong written and communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workload
- Leveraging the resources of JRS-Ethiopia and partners/ building strategic alliances and partnerships
- Knowledge of project cycle management and sphere standards.
- Excellent organization, time and general management skills
- Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and objective judgments.
- High degree of competency using MS Office, MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and e-mail communication
- Self-motivated, highly organized team player
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening
