European Union’s Ethiopia office Facebook page has been hacked


The message shared by an individual’s account on the official verified Facebook page of the European Union in Ethiopia drew condemnation from many, and the European Union in Ethiopia said, “I have been hacked.”


The European Union in Ethiopia shared the above-linked article by the individual named “Adisalem Desta” on its Facebook page. The text reads: “Eritrean and Ethiopian forces are escalating their war of genocide by ignoring the calls of the international community / controlling the whole of Tigray. to do. ” and other thoughts.


The same article remained on the page for about 25 minutes, and a large number of people expressed strong condemnation and opposition to the comment.


They condemned the action by stating that the international institution openly disseminated the propaganda of the TPLF group, that the institution aims to support the TPLF, which is classified as terrorism, and that it should be ashamed of this action.


The text on the website of the European Union Mission in Ethiopia was lost and shortly afterwards the page was “hacked”.
The ambassador “Today we would like to inform you that our account has been hacked and posted,” he said.


The European Union has indicated that it has regained control of the Ethiopian ambassador’s account and stated that it is investigating the situation related to the abduction or hacking.
