European Union announces 800,000 People died in Ethiopia’s civil war.

The head of the European Union’s foreign affairs and security policy, Joseph Borrell, said that nearly 800,000 people have died due to the war in northern Ethiopia.

According to his post on his Twitter page, “We need to investigate the humanitarian crises that have not received the proper attention”, he said.

Joseph Borrell added that “Nearly 800,000 people have died in the war in Tigray region.”

Nine months ago, Belgium’s Ghent University released that it is estimated that half a million people died in the war in northern Ethiopia.

In March 2022, the Washington Post reported that 150,000 people died in battle, 150,000 to 200,000 died of starvation, and more than 100,000 died of a medical care supply shortage.
