Gurage zone, due to a peaceful demonstration
Eyewitnesses told to Ethio Negari that there was a strike in Wolkite city, which is the capital of the Gurage zone, and other areas.
The residents added that the strike was held in response to the government’s request to reorganize the zone into a regional state.
Since yesterday, the state government has asked the public to give suggestions to those who are agitating about the possibility of a strike.
The decision was made to reorganize the Gurage zone as the Southern Ethiopia region, and the government of the zone said that it has started to implement this.
However, the residents of the zone are expressing on social media that they still have questions and the current strikes for the fourth round.
