Addis Ababa, ET, 14 February, 2023:-African Union 2023 leaders Summit will start tomorrow in Addis Ababa

35 presidents and 4 prime ministers will participate in the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that 35 Presidents and 4 Prime Ministers will participate in the 36th African Union Summit and 42nd African Union Executives Meeting to be held in Addis Ababa from tomorrow.

In the weekly statement given by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Meles Adelman, said that delegations from 51 countries will participate in the African Union meeting.

He also stated that 35 heads of state, four prime ministers, 11 foreign ministers, 13 first ladies, and 10 heads of international organizations will attend the forum.

The spokesperson said that the forum will be held in one place at the same time and bilateral and multilateral diplomacy activities will be carried out to assure the interests of countries.

He added that the conference will broadly discuss the issue of the African Free Trade Area.

Ambassador Meles stated that Ethiopia is ready to actively participate in the conference to carry out successful diplomatic activities.

He also added that Ethiopia is grateful for the efforts made to solve the peace problem which is facing within the framework of the African Union.

In this continental leaders’ meeting, amendments and various legal documents will be approved by the Security Council.

The current African Union and Senegal president will hand over to Comoros.
