Addis Ababa, ET, 14 February 2023:- Ethiopian Human Rights Council office robbed
The council announced that the new investigation office that opened in Addis Ababa branch office was broken into and robbed by unknown people at night on February 11,2023.
The department head’s laptop computer was taken, the council announced in a statement issued yesterday.
The council explained that the office break-in was a “premeditated” and “reckless” act of taking away only the officer’s laptop, which contained investigations into human rights violations, without taking other laptops from the office.
Ethiopian human right council has requested the government to immediately stop the pressures and threats against the institution and its human rights defenders and to provide protection and legal protection.
