PM Abiy Ahmed meets US secretary Antony Blinken in Addis Ababa.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has started his African tour in Ethiopia.

Antony Blinken met his Ethiopia’s counterpart and discussed with bilateral, humanitarian and other regional agendas.

In the afternoon he met with prime minister Abiy Ahmed and discussed regarding the implementation of the peace agreement signed in Pretoria, South Africa.

Anthony Blinken’s visit to Ethiopia will contribute to the improvement of relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed participated in the US-Africa summit held in Washington last November.

President Joe Biden has chosen Ervin Joseph Massinga to be the US Ambassador to Ethiopia.

The US has suspended aid and loans to Ethiopia because of the war broke out in northern Ethiopia.

Following the signing of the peace agreement, Washington will release the loan and aid budget that had imposed on Ethiopia.
