Ethiopia earned 44 billion birr from domestic tourist in the same period
Ethiopia plans to attract more than one million foreign tourist in the current fiscal year.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Ethiopia was visited by 504,840 foreign tourists in the last 6 months.
The ministry mentioned that has earned more than 2 billion dollars from these visitors.
tourists, participants and business people who attended various international conferences in Ethiopia are also included in this report.
The average tourist staying time in Addis Ababa is 5 to 6 days.
And also Ethiopia secured 44 billion birr from domestic visitors.
The ministry has prepared a savings account called “Travel” in cooperation with the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia to increase domestic tourism.
Visitors who save for their next trip with this savings account are getting 5 to 7 percent back to their next trip.
