Boeing and Think Young trains 60 Ethiopians

The training was conducted in collaboration with Think Young and the American Aviation company,Boeing.

The training was given to 60 students from 20 schools in Addis Ababa and abroad.

The training, which was given to those over seven years of age, was designed with the intention of helping young students to introduce with technology.

The training given to the youngsters focused on website development, robotics, coding and artificial intelligence.

The international aviation organization, Boeing is part of the training and provided financial support.

Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing Middle , Turkey and Africa, said the training is part of Boeing’s community engagement.

“We have come to Ethiopia to support the Ethiopian government’s plan to build a digital economy,” the president added, adding that he had trained teenagers interested in technology in Addis Ababa.

Boeing has been working with technology organizations in Africa since 2016 with a budget of $20 million, Koljit said.

In Ethiopia, we have also provided technology training to interested youths in cooperation with Think Young and Ethiopian Airlines, Koljit Ghata added.

The president said that, he has noticed that the young Ethiopians who have taken the training have the desire and potential for technology.

The student who told us that she came from Lebawi Academy, Hemen Tewodros, is a ninth grade student.

“I was happy to participate in the this training program” she added.

Hemen, said that “I wants to become an astrophysicist and this training will help me to achieve my dream.”
