The President of the United Arab Emirates arrived in Addis Ababa to visit Ethiopia
The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has arrived in Addis Ababa for an official visit.
When Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.) welcomed him.
The President is expected to meet and discuss with various government officials during his stay in Ethiopia.
This is Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s first visit to Ethiopia after becoming president, and he previously visited Ethiopia in 2018 when he was the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The two countries are close friends and especially hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians are working in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The two countries are also working together on human resource development, trade and investment, security and security.
The United Arab Emirates has been known for providing weapons, financial and diplomatic support to Ethiopia during its two-year war with the TPLF.
After Prime Minister Abiy came to power, he has traveled to Abu Dhabi more than five times and visited and held discussions with UAE higher officials.
