One of the founding members of Tirita FM, journalist Yehualashet Zerihun arrested by Federal police.
His wife confirmed that federal police officers took him from his house around lunchtime.
She added that Yehualashet was arrested by Federal Police members from his home in Baldaras Condominium at noon today and taken to the temporary detention center.
The wife went to the place where he was arrested and asked and was informed that he did not know why he was arrested and was not questioned.
Federal police didn’t disclose why journalist Yehualashed Zerihun have been arrested.
Before he joined the newly established Tirita FM, he had been hosting a radio show called “Kine Bisrat” on Bisrat FM 101.1 for years.
International Protection Group of Journalists or CPJ issued a statement a few days ago that the abuses of journalists continue in Ethiopia and urged that those imprisoned should be released.
