Huawei ICT competition provides an environment to compete and the exchange of ideas.
Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024, which promotes the healthy development of the ICT talent ecosystem and supports the integration of industry and education, is happening in Ethiopia.
The 6th round in Ethiopia and the 8th in the world Huawei ICT competition, which attracts more than one thousand higher education students, held its preliminary and national final exams consecutively.
The preliminary exam was held on December 15, 2023, and attended by more than 280 higher education students, among whom 80 attended the national final competition held online today.
The regional final for this year will be held in Tunisia by the end of March, and students who passed this national exam will join the competition from Ethiopia.
The Huawei ICT Competition is a competitive ICT talent exchange event developed by Huawei for global college students.
Mr. Yeliming, Huawei Ethiopia PR Director, mentioned that through this competition, Huawei aims to provide students with a platform to compete healthily and exchange ideas, thus enhancing their ICT knowledge and practical skills as well as increasing their ability to innovate by using new technologies and platforms.
Students from the computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, communication engineering, and ICT departments competed in Ethiopia’s annual national final competition for the 6th round.
The Huawei ICT Competition is for students in Huawei ICT academies and higher education institutions worldwide who want to join the ICT Academy.
Huawei’s goal with this competition is to provide students with an environment in which to compete and exchange ideas, thereby improving their ICT knowledge and practical skills and increasing their ability to innovate by utilizing new technologies and platforms.
The Huawei ICT Competition’s influence has grown since 2015. The 6th global Huawei ICT Competition last year drew 150,000 students from more than 2,000 universities and colleges in 85 countries and regions. Ethiopian students have competed in the competition since 2017.
It is known that nine Ethiopian students won the third prize in the 7th Huawei ICT Competition Global Final, which took place in Shenzhen, China, from May 24 to May 28, 2023. Huawei awarded today these 18 students.
