Ethiopian Aviation University Graduates Nearly 800 Professionals

Ethiopian Aviation University, Africa’s premier aviation training institution, has celebrated the graduation of nearly 800 aviation professionals, including international trainees from eight African countries and one from Asia.

The graduation ceremony, held at the university’s facility, was attended by Ambassadors, African officials, executives from Ethiopian Airlines Group, and the families and friends of the graduates.

The graduates completed various programs offered by Ethiopian Aviation University, including Pilot, Aviation Maintenance, Cabin Crew, and Commercial Training programs.

Mr. Mesfin Tasew, the Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines Group, congratulated the new aviation professionals. He stated, “We are delighted to witness the fruits of our efforts in realizing a self-sufficient Africa in terms of aviation professionals supporting the industry within the continent.

We believe in the potential of Africa’s youth to shape the continent’s aviation industry and continue to educate them at our center of excellence.

Today, we graduate 308 aviation maintenance professionals, 142 pilots, 297 cabin crew members, 25 electro-mechanical professionals, and 15 ticket agents. I urge Africans to invest in training their youth for the future of aviation at Ethiopian Aviation University.”

Since its establishment in 1956, the Ethiopian Aviation Academy, recently upgraded to university status, has provided various aviation courses to both local and international trainees.

The university now offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in aerospace and hospitality, including a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance Engineering, Aviation Management & Operations, a BA in Tourism & Hospitality Management, an MSc in Data Science, and an MBA in Aviation Management.

Ethiopian Aviation University also continues to provide diploma and certificate programs in aircraft maintenance technician training, pilot training, cabin crew training, commercial training, leadership, career development, catering training, ICAO courses, and online courses.

Additionally, it offers aviation training in regional cities, including Hawassa, Dire-Dawa, Bahir-Dar, and Mekelle.
