ATIM BETA Scholarship Application

2025 Academic Year: Master of Public Health (MPH) with a Special Interest in Tobacco Control

This scholarship is targeted at applicants from Sub-Saharan Africa. All course-related expenses and reasonable living costs in South Africa will be covered.

Application Deadline: 31 July 2024

Before completing the application form, please review the following requirements:

1. Admission Requirements for the MPH Program at the University of Pretoria:

– Fluency in spoken and written English.

– Current TOEFL score document.

  Minimum Requirements:

– PGDip (Public Health) or equivalent with an average of at least 60%, or equivalent learning (non-degree purposes or equivalent coursework at another institution), provided the applicant has:

  – A relevant honours degree, or

  – A relevant four-year bachelor’s degree and at least two years of applicable practical (work) experience, or

  – A relevant three-year bachelor’s degree and at least five years of applicable practical (work) experience.

Duration of Study:12-24 months full-time.

2. Required Documents for the Scholarship Application (Incomplete applications will not be considered):

– A brief curriculum vitae (maximum of 3 pages).

– A motivation letter (maximum of 2 pages) explaining your choice of Master of Public Health with a special interest in tobacco control (use Times Roman, font size 11).

– An official letter from your employer specifying:

  – Support for your proposed course of study.

  – Assurance of appropriate employment during and after completing the MPH degree.

  – Assurance of time and opportunity to complete the research project while employed.

– Certified photocopies of your degree certificate(s).

– Copy of your ID/Passport.

– Proof of application to the MPH program at the University of Pretoria.

  – Important: All international applicants must have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Visit [SAQA](http://www.saqa.co.za) for more information.

– A certified copy of your transcript record (in English) for subjects studied during your highest previous degree.

Application Submission:

Your scholarship application will be considered only if the above documents and the completed application form are received by 31 July 2024.
