Ethiopian Airlines allocates $6 billion to build new Airport

Ethiopian Airlines is going to build an airport that can handle 100 million passengers annually.

A construction design agreement has been signed with a company called Dar company.

Dar Company has been selected to design the airport to be built in Bishoftu city.

However, the amount they have agreed to pay has not been disclosed.

Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it is in the process of building a new airport.

Ethiopian Airlines CEO, Mr. stated that an airport with the capacity to handle 100 million passengers per year will be built in Bishoftu city.

This airport will be built to replace Bole International Airport, which can handle only 25 million passengers per year, said Mesfen Tasew.

He also stated that the airport construction design company Dar was selected to be built in the place called Abu Serra in Bishoftu.

Mr. Mesfin added that the construction of the new airport will be built in two phases within five years, and the first phase will cost $six billion.

The airport is said to have the capacity to land and take off four planes at a time.

It is stated that the new airport, which has the capacity to land 270 planes, will be built with a fast train and a road connecting it with Bole Airport.

It has been announced that the cost of $six billion required for the construction of the new airport will be covered by loans, and institutions willing to provide loans have been found, Mr. Mesfin said.

However, Mr. Mesfin refrained from saying how much the Dar company, which is designing the new airport construction, estimated cost will be.
