1. Concern Worldwide – Consortium Technical Assistance Lead

  • Location: Addis Ababa

Key Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent experience) in education, gender, public administration, international development, or a related field. Ph.D. or Ed.D. is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience delivering and coordinating large-scale technical assistance programs to influence education policy reform in similar contexts.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong technical expertise in areas such as girls’ education, teaching and learning, school leadership, inclusion, accountability, and education system strengthening.
    • Proven ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders including government, civil society, donors, and multilaterals. Preference will be given to those with local knowledge and networks in Ethiopia.
    • Experience in complex and high-risk environments, managing multiple stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with Ethiopia’s education delivery and system, with a deep understanding of the political and cultural context.
    • Strong research and adaptive learning background.
    • Staff and financial management experience, including leading teams to achieve high-quality program outcomes.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence key stakeholders.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Desirable:

  • Experience with FCDO commercial contracts or accountable grants.
  • Proficiency in Ethiopian languages.

    • Experience with staff and financial management, ensuring program outcomes are met.
    • Deep understanding of girls’ education and FCDO priorities.
    • Proven experience in building partnerships with government, civil society, donors, and multilateral organizations.
    • Familiarity with Ethiopia’s education system and political landscape.
    • Proven track record in research, adaptive learning, and managing complex environments.
    • Strong communication skills to influence and engage key stakeholders.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing large FCDO commercial contracts.
  • Fluency in Ethiopian languages.
