Multichoice Ethiopia unveils new program for Amharic and afan Oromo audiences

DSTV, which is one of the multichoice companies, is known to offer various entertainment programs to Ethiopian viewers.

The organization celebrated content discovery day in Addis Ababa, and Ethiopian veteran artists, media professionals and others were present on the stage.

The company stated that the organization will present new content in addition to the entertainment programs it has been providing to Ethiopian viewers this season.

In addition to the content that was being presented to Ethiopian viewers through the organization, will soon start new programs in Amharic and afan Oromo languages.

DSTV is currently offering Abol TV and Abol Duka programs including Adey, Derash, Askuala, Sorene, Agarochu, Gebrye and others.

Multichoice Ethiopia director Galila Gebremichael said in the program that the organization will present to the Ethiopian audience, in addition to the current ones, more works of art such as Ende and S1, Afaf S1, Gize S1, Quchit S1, Dagmawi S1, Ye Qesar Dinaroch S1, Agafari S2, Abol Millionaire S2, Sewur, Salonu, Ye Be’er Sim.

The artistes who are preparing content for the entertainment programs of DSTV thanked the institution for their support and will continue to produce content that will enable them to compete with their African counterparts.

Artist Michael Solomon, who is working to bring the Amharic drama Afaf to DSTV viewers, said that the opportunity given by Multichoice Ethiopia will greatly enhance Ethiopian art.

Artist Michael added that, the movies that were broadcasted and are being broadcasted on Abol TV will increase the artistic works that Ethiopia receives from Africans and Ethiopia’s contributions to the rest of Africans.

The director added that in addition to Amharic programs, the organization also offers entertainment programs broadcast in afan Oromo languages.
