Dashen Bank, which is holding its 30th regular meeting in Addis Ababa, has earned five billion birr annual profit.
The chairman of the bank’s board, Mr. Dula Mekonen, said that the bank had a total income of 18 billion birr in the last 12 months.
Also, in the same year, the bank collected 23.6 billion birr in deposits and the total deposits have increased to 115 billion birr.
The bank’s total assets reached 145 billion birr, announced to the shareholders at the meeting.
The total capital of Dashen Bank is 19.3 billion birr and the amount of paid-up capital is 9.3 billion birr.
The CEO of Dashan Bank, Mr. Asfaw Alemu, said that last year was a successful year for the bank in terms of expanding its reach, attracting new customers, and raising funds.
Dashen Bank has opened 253 new branches in a year, bringing the total number of branches of the bank to more than 835.
Dashen Bank currently has more than 5 million customers and will continue to provide banking services that meet the needs of its customers.
Dashan Bank, the first private bank in Ethiopia, received a loan of $40 million from Dutch and UK investment institutions.
