Dozens of Luxury Buses Delivered to the Ethiopian Public Service Employees Transport Service Enterprise (PSETSE)

Bishoftu Automotive Industry delivered dozens of modern, cross-country luxury buses to the Public Service Employees Transport Service Enterprise (PSETSE) at a ceremony held yesterday on July 11.

The models are said to be better than previous models, with 5 of the vehicles being inclusive of the physically disabled. The 45-seat buses are described as luxurious euro standards, with high horsepower, ample luggage space, and toilet and refrigerator rooms. They also have full artificial intelligence systems and produce less carbon pollution.

According to Ethio Engineering Group, 50 more buses are reportedly under LC process and will be assembled soon for PTSE. The report furtherer adds that the Addis Ababa City Administration must have also requested and ordered 2000 city buses, meaning body parts procurement is in development.

Dagmawit Moges, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, tweeted a post about the new buses and highlighted their main advantages. The vehicles are equipped with a warning system that notifies the supervisory body if the driver falls asleep, misses a path, or is talking on the phone while driving.  

Located 45 km East of Addis Ababa, in the town of Bishoftu, BAI assembles public transportation buses, inter-city buses, heavy duty trucks, pick-ups, small vehicles and multi-purpose military vehicles. It works on the expansion of modern automotive technology as well as related production facilities owned by private enterprises, in addition to producing and supplying automotive products.
