Former Tanzanian president awarded the Africa Food Prize

The African Food Prize is awarded annually to organizations that have contributed to the development of agriculture in Africa.

Those who are included in this award are farmers, leaders and researchers who have done the best work in the field of food.

100,000 dollars will be awarded to the winners of the prize, and the year 2022 was won by the former President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete.

African Food Prize has appointed the former President of Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete as the Chairman of the Board in a program held in Addis Ababa today.

Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia Haile Mariam Desalegn presided over the award ceremony.

Former Nigerian President Olesegun Obasanjo, who chaired the organization for the past seven years, said, “Africa needs more leading researchers, entrepreneurs and technologists in the agricultural sector.

He also added that “our children need to learn and grow up knowing this.”

The new chairman, Jakaya Kikwete, said that African agriculture has many problems and said that he will work in coordination with other parties.
