Coca-Cola announces 10 million birr subsidy for plastic bottle recycling association
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa-Ethiopia announced a 10 million birr subsidy program aimed at increasing the collection capacity of plastic bottle collecting associations in Addis Ababa.
The subsidy program, which will be implemented in two phases for one year, will benefit 30 associations that collect used plastics in Addis Ababa city, and the organization will provide support of 10 million birr.
The subsidy will be given to the associations based on their performance, and CCBA-Ethiopia will provide a subsidy of 1,000 birr for every 1,000 kilograms of plastic collected.
The company stated that it is committed to reducing the amount of plastic, and it will work to collect and recycle 100% of the plastic it produces by 2030.
The organization supports the establishment of plastic bottle recycle centers across the country, and has produced more than 14,000 female plastic recycling in the sector through various projects.
