The Swedish Embassy in Addis Ababa is responsible for Sweden's relations with Ethiopia, Djibouti, IGAD and the African Union (AU). Moreover, the Embassy manages both the Swedish bilateral development cooperation programme with Ethiopia and one of two regional development cooperation programmes with Africa. The latter includes collaboration with continental and regional partners, such as the African Union, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, the African Development Bank, regional economic communities (REC) including EAC, SADC, IGAD and ECOWAS, NGOs and think tanks.
