Addis Ababa University Receives Digital Braille Devices From Korea

Addis Ababa University (AAU) announced that it has received 30 modern digital braille devices, each worth $5,000, totaling $150,000. The university signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the South Korea International Cooperation Agency to collaborate on this initiative. According to the agreement, AAU will receive an additional 30 digital braille devices as part of the support. These modern devices will assist visually impaired undergraduate and graduate students in their studies by leveraging technology. China awards scholarships to more than 100 Ethiopian students The scholarship is part of the "China Ethiopia Friendship" which was started 5 years ago. The scholarship opportunity was given to undergraduate and graduate students who were studying at Addis Ababa University. A Statista infographic published a few days ago ranked Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa University in 6th place among the top universities in Africa. This rank is shared jointly with Aswan University in Egypt. The list, compiled initially by Times Higher Eduction, is topped by the University of Cape Town in South Africa, followed by Stellenbosch and the University of Witwatersrand coming in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
