Engineer Daniel H/Michael has been appointed as the CEO of Ethio-Djibouti Railway (EDR). Previously serving as the Chief Technical Officer of EDR, Engineer Daniel H/Michael has now taken on the role of acting CEO. This appointment was made by the Chairman of the Board of Ethio-Djibouti Railway, Minister of Mines Habtamu Tegegn. He replaces Abdi Zenebe, the former CEO of the Ethio-Djibouti Railway Joint Stock Company and the reason for Abdi Zenebe’s departure remains unclear. The Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway Share Company (EDR) has disclosed an income of 2.5 billion Ethiopian birrs (about 47.4 million U.S. dollars) for the last five months. Abdi Zenebe, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the EDR, said the railway was able to transport more than 500,000 metric tons of cargo in the past five months, eventually generating 2.5 billion Ethiopian birrs in income, Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported Monday.
