Hirut Zemene Appointed as Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the African Union and ECA Hirut Zemene, one of Ethiopia's renowned diplomats, has been appointed as the new Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). Prior to this appointment, Ambassador Zemene served as Ethiopia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union in Brussels, Belgium, where she represented Ethiopia’s interests at the EU and strengthened diplomatic relations with European nations.
