BRICS commences annual summit in South Africa

BRICS, which was formed 15 years ago by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, is holding its annual summit in Johannesburg. The 15th BRICS leaders’ summit was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Brazilian President Lula da Silva and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Russia is represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and President Putin delivered a speech via the Internet.
