The world athletics governing body made the announcement of ratifying the record on Wednesday. Senbere’s record was ratified along with another world record of 30:01 by the late Agnes Tirop over women only 10km road race in Herzogenaurach town, Germany’s Bavaria. Just moments after the 10km race in the same city, 2015 world 5000m silver medallist Senbere ran away from her opponents after the first kilometer with an incredible solo effort, winning the 5km by 25 seconds in 14:29.
