LIYANA HEALTH CARE PLC would like to recruit potential candidates for the position of Quality Management Officer to assign at Head Quarter in Hawassa town.

Position Summary:
The Quality Management Officer constitutes the Corporate Strategy and Quality Office and reports to the Chief Strategy and Quality Officer. In coordination with corporate offices, business units and personnel along the company-wide hierarchy, the QMO works to deliver excelling quality in all main and support LHC operations. He/she shall have effective and efficient functional relationships with corporate offices and business units.
Responsibilities :
General Roles and Responsibilities
- Represents the company in all matters of quality; and as such, he/she formulates – and leads the execution of quality-related policies, manuals, strategies, and programs of the company.
- Leads the operation of quality planning, quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement steps of quality management.
- Leads the implementation of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Total Quality Management (TQM) across LHC, in order to boost the value proposition of the company’s services and products, stay ahead of competition, maximize efficiency, and ensure profitability.
- Ensures regulatory standards are proactively and satisfactorily met for all the main and support operations.
- Leads the monitoring and evaluation of quality-related activities; moreover, he/she assumes other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the company.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Maps, analyzes, defines, and improves main and support company operations, processes, and systems to implement quality standards according to quality systems such as the Ethiopian Quality Award (EQA), and the International Standardization Organization (ISO).
- Formulates quality specifications, tracking and control procedures, tools, and checklists across LHC portfolio encompassing health service, supply chain, and academics.
- Gathers systematic and regular feedbacks and inputs from all relevant stakeholders in general and customers in particular; and analyze those feedbacks in order to devise standards of practice that satisfy customers’ expectations and give LHC competitive edge.
- Evaluates the practices of stakeholders such as suppliers and contractors in matters relevant to LHC’s operations.
- Leases with authorized national and/or global Quality Management certification bodies and Quality Management Systems.
- Explores for internal and/or external quality benchmarks and institutes measures to excel the latter.
- Works in concert with company representatives for risk and knowledge management, in order to prevent and/or mitigate operational risks and manage knowledge for value.
- Strategizes for and executes measures to enhance overall efficiency in all of the main and support LHC operations.
- Manages company document control system ensuring consistency, maintenance and updating.
- Ensures regulatory standards are proactively and satisfactorily met for all the main and support operations.
- Keeps track of national and international regulations updates and ensures company practices are in conformance of the updates.
Personnel and resources management
- Conducts periodic activity and budget planning according to the scope of the office.
- Allocates quality personnel to various duties and/or projects.
- Leads and supervises business unit quality officers; and, provides all-rounded assistance to business unit quality committees, BU management, and Corporate Offices.
- Plans and executes capacity building programs in relation to TQM implementation.
Monitoring and evaluation
- Leads periodic quality audits and improvement initiatives encompassing all business units, systems, and processes of the company.
- Facilitates regular quality review meetings.
- Reviews quality-related periodic performance reports of business units and corporate offices and provides feedbacks for improvement.
- Presents periodic systematic quality management reports to the Chief Strategy and Quality Officer.

Job Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Proficient in operation of computerized and manual quality tools.
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant regulatory standards.
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Well-organized, attentive to details, multi-tasker, result-driven, and able to work under pressure.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer and results-oriented.
- Available to travel.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in public health, health service management, business administration, or related fields.
- Two to four years’ experience in quality management or related functions; leadership role preferable.
- Demonstrated ability of leading implementation of a quality management system
- Certification in Quality Management Systems is preferred.
