Mesenbet Shenkute has secured a second term as president of the Addis Abeba Chamber of Commerce & Sectoral Association.
The election for the top position at the city chamber pitted the incumbent President of the Association against Edao Abdi, Executive Director of Edao International Trading.
The vote took place during the Regular General Assembly of the Association held at the Inter Luxury Hotel on Thursday.
Mesenbet has secured a majority of 461 votes to win the election.
Addis Chamber’s first female President, Mesenbet will stay in her position for two more years.
The Association has also elected Fasikaw Sisay as vice president along with nine board directors.
Addis Chamber, which has over 17,000 members, is the largest and oldest chamber of commerce in Ethiopia
