Senior leader of the oromia Prosperity Party was killed by gunmen
One of the senior leader in Nekemte city of East Wolega zone in Oromia region was killed by gunmen.
Nekemte City Prosperity Party office head Mr. Desalegn Bokonja was killed by armed men at the door of his residence this morning, the government communication office of the city administration announced.
The communication office of the city administration announced in a statement on its social page that Mr. Desalegn was shot dead when he left his house to go to work.
Before being appointed as the head of the Nekemte City Prosperity Party office, Mr. Desalegn Bokonja has been serving in various positions, including the head of the government communication office of the Nekemte City Administration, and the political sector of the Nekemte City Prosperity Party office.
The party has announced that following the killing of the Party office head, Prosperity Party’s Oromia branch chief, Mr. Fiqadu Tesema, has expressed his grief.
