One of Chinese giant cement organization, Sinoma international company expresses its interest to build a cement factory in Ethiopia.
Ethiopia’s ambassador to China, Tefera Derbe, discussed with Mr. Lu Yan, the chairman of Sinoma International Company and the executive director of CNBM Institute, and his colleagues.
The ambassador visited the company’s head office in Beijing and had a discussion regarding the company’s investment in Ethiopia.
During the discussion, Ambassador Tefera thanked the company for its contribution in the design and construction of the cement factories in Ethiopia, and stated that the demand for cement is increasing in view of the size of construction in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Tefera added that considering the high demand for cement in Ethiopia, if the company engages in the investment sector.
He invited the company to participate in the investment forum that will be held in Addis Ababa from April 26 to 28, 2023.
Mr. Lu Yan, for his part, pointed out that cement and steel are important resources for the development of a country, and interested to build a factory in Ethiopia that will not have a negative impact on climate change using the best technology of the time.
The Ethiopian Embassy in China stated that the company accepted the call from the embassy and will send a team to participate in the investment forum.
