1. Position: Regional Lead for Addis Ababa – FCDO Transforming Education in Ethiopia (TREE)

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity to support Ethiopia’s education system while working within a dynamic consortium to develop an innovative bid for the upcoming five-year “Transforming Education Programme in Ethiopia (TREE).” As the Regional Lead, you will be based in Addis Ababa and will travel throughout the region and other parts of Ethiopia as needed.

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, international development, gender, or related fields (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale, complex projects in Ethiopia or similar contexts, with a preference for those with education sector experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary technical teams and consortium partners.
  • Proven experience managing teams and motivating staff to deliver high-quality results.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, including government entities, civil society, and local communities.
  • Deep understanding of the Ethiopian education system and its political and cultural environment.
  • Experience coordinating with the Ethiopian government at a regional level, particularly within the education sector.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, complex environment, and use data for informed decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic (Oromifa fluency is an advantage).

Desirable:
