Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent experience) in education, gender, public administration, international development, or a related field. Ph.D. or Ed.D. is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience delivering and coordinating large-scale technical assistance programs to influence education policy reform in similar contexts.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong technical expertise in areas such as girls’ education, teaching and learning, school leadership, inclusion, accountability, and education system strengthening.
- Proven ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders including government, civil society, donors, and multilaterals. Preference will be given to those with local knowledge and networks in Ethiopia.
- Experience in complex and high-risk environments, managing multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Ethiopia’s education delivery and system, with a deep understanding of the political and cultural context.
- Strong research and adaptive learning background.
- Staff and financial management experience, including leading teams to achieve high-quality program outcomes.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence key stakeholders.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Desirable:
- Experience with FCDO commercial contracts or accountable grants.
- Proficiency in Ethiopian languages.
