Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority Issues License to New Airline

Air Express Africa Plc, a privately owned company, received its air transport service license from the Ethiopian civil aviation industry regulator on Friday.

The authority said the license was issued after the company successfully completed the registration process, involving five phases.

These phases are pre-application, formal application, Document evaluation and Inspection and finally Certification.

Captain Nesru Kemal, founder and owner of the company, received the license certificate from the ECAA General-director, Getachew Mengiste.

The General-director urged the Air Express to work patiently and diligently to go through the hurdles in the aviation sector and become a success.

Capt. Nesru appreciated the support his company received from the ECAA’s inspectors during the registration process.

The newly certified airlines will take the number of airlines operating in air transport service in Ethiopia to 12.
