Seven people dies by floods in the drought-stricken Somali region

In the drought-stricken Dawa zone of the Somali region, seven people have been killed in a flash flood following a long absence of rain. The heavy rain that caused the flood in the zone rained from March 11 to 14, 2023, and as a result, all the four areas of the zone were flooded and many people who were previously in shelters due to drought.  Japan has decided to extend an emergency grant aid worth USD 6.5 million to the people affected by the drought in the Somali Region of Ethiopia, its embassy in Addis Ababa announced today.
