Athlete Derartu Tulu elected as the vice president of African Athletics

Derartu Tulu, the president of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation, has been elected as the vice president of African Athletics federation.
Ethiopian Athletics Federation has announced that Derartu Tulun, has been unanimously elected as the vice president of African Athletics.
Derartu, a 51-year-old athlete, has won many medals for her country and herself, and she is the first African to win a gold medal in the Olympic 10,000-meter race.
Athlete Derartu has been leading the Ethiopian Athletics Federation since 2018, taking over from the former president, athlete Haile Gebreselasie.
She is known as a role model for other young Ethiopian athletes in many competitions she has achieved, and inviting young athletes to compete in the Olympics and other competitions.
