South Korean Foreign Minister Arrives in Addis Ababa,Ethiopia

South Korean Foreign Minister Arrives in Addis Ababa for an Official Visit Earlier this morning the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Park Jin, arrived in Addis Ababa for a three-day official visit. Upon arrival at the Bole International Airport, FM Jin was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia. The South Korean Foreign Minister will later today meet with senior officials of the Ethiopian Government to discuss ways of further strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

South Korea grants $10 million to modernize Ethiopia’s agriculture

Ethiopia and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) signed a 10 million dollar aid agreement in Addis Ababa. The financial assistance agreement was signed by the Minister of State for Finance, Sumerita Sewasew, and the head of KOICA in Ethiopia, Lee Byunghwa. The financial support is to be used to modernize Ethiopian agriculture, especially to increase the productivity of milk and milk products. The Ministry of Finance announced in a statement that, the project which will increase milk productivity, will be implemented in the next six years. The project will focus on supporting farmers engaged in dairy farming and animal husbandry.…

US, South Korea kick off biggest military drills in years

South Korea and the United States have launched their largest joint military drills in years, officials said, as the allies seek to tighten readiness over North Korea’s potential weapons tests. The annual summertime exercises in Korea, renamed Ulchi Freedom Shield, began on Monday and are scheduled to end on September 1.
